How to Prepare for Your Lash Appointment: The Ultimate Checklist

Booking your lash appointment is exciting, but showing up prepared makes all the difference! Prepping the right way means your extensions will last longer, look better, and give you the smooth, relaxing experience you deserve. To ensure you get flawless, long-lasting lash extensions, there are a few simple steps to prepare before your appointment. Whether you’re a first-time client or a lash veteran, this guide will help you get the best results possible.

1. Arrive with Clean Lashes

  • Come with a squeaky clean face. No makeup, no products.

  • Avoid wearing mascara the 3 days before your appointment, because even if you think you got it all off, you probably didn’t. Mascara is so hard to remove completely, and dirty lashes mean lash extensions that don’t last.

  • Makeup and product residue can interfere with the bond of the extension to the natural lash and cause the extensions to fall off pre-maturely.

2. Skip the Caffeine Before Your Appointment

I know, I know…coffee is life. But caffeine makes your eyes flutter and water more, which can make the appointment less comfortable for you and more difficult for the artist. Save your latte for after your lash nap ;)

3. Dress Comfortably

If this is a full set appointment, you’ll most likely be lying down for a few hours, so think cutesy cozy. Leggings, Sweatshirt, anything you can relax in! Try to avoid hoods as they can get uncomfy laying on them for so long, and same with your hair…no clips or ponies on the back of your head, it WILL get uncomfortable.

4. Don’t Curl or Perm Your Lashes Beforehand

Leave your natural lashes as-is. Curling or lifting them before your appointment can make it harder for extensions to bond properly.

Fun Fact: Lash Artists use the natural curl of your lashes to help determine what curl of lash extensions we use, so if you curl your naturally straight lashes it can interfere with the longevity of your set!

5.Avoid Heavy Creams or Oils Around Your Eyes

Myth: Oil breaks down lash extensions. Truth: Oils are very difficult to completely remove from your lashes, and if there is any residue during application it can form a barrier between the natural lash and the extension, causing them to sluff off early.
